Mary Jane Britton, 70, of Clay City died at 10:00pm Monday, August 15, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Friday, August 19 at J.W. Neal Funeral Home in Louisville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm Thursday. Burial will be in Hoosier Prairie Cemetery, rural Louisville. Memorials to the American Diabetes Association.

Mary was born October 28, 1945 in Bible Grove, Clay County, IL, the daughter of the late Noble E. and the late Flossie Jane (Pierce) Walker. She married Homer Larry Britton on January 12, 1963 at Old Union Christian Church. He preceded her in death on October 14, 2012. She was employed by Flora Manor and the Cila Corp. as a supervisor and CNA caregiver. She was a past member of the Old Union Christian Church and loved reading and playing bingo.

Mary is survived by sons Jerry (Gaitha Miller) Britton of Noble, IL, Homer (Amy) Britton of Sailor Springs; daughters Sherry Johnson of Xenia, Carrie (Carroll) Lee of Clay City; brothers, Bill (Jean) Walker of Strasburg, Jake (Arilla) Walker of Louisville; half brother Noble Walker of Clay City; step-brother Steve Phillips of Clay City; sisters, Betty Belleville of Heartville, Kay (Jim) Taylor of Paris, IL, Janet (Charlie) Culver of Strasburg, Ruth Lashebrook of Indiana; sister-in-law, Peggy Groves of Flora; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as a son-in-law Marty Johnson, brother Charles Walker, and brother-in-law Don Belleville.
