Doris Mae Vogt, 81, of Effingham died at 7:50am Monday, August 15, 2016 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 19 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in Seminary Cemetery, Pittsburg. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 6:45 p.m. service. Memorials may be made to Effingham County Humane Society or to the donor’s choice.

Doris was born January 21, 1935 in Fayette County, the daughter of Melvin and Ruth (Mills) Thompson. She married Clem J. Vogt on August 23, 1991 and he survives. Doris was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham. She worked for many years in a hospital, as well as in-home care, as a Certified Nurses Assistant.

Doris is survived by her husband, Clem of Effingham; four sons, Carl (Reneé) Rogers of Hillsboro, Rod “Sissy” Rogers of Brownstown, Mike Rogers and David Rogers, both of Cochester; step-son, Tom (Crystal) Vogt of Effingham; four step-daughters, Sue (Lynn) Marvin of Effingham, Joyce (Phil) Mathews of Effingham, Christie (Chad) Sexton of Clinton, IN and Amy Vogt of Effingham; brother, Darrell (Donna) Thompson of Brownstown; sister, Jan Moore of Vandalia; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, twelve step-grandchildren and five great step-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; step-grandson, Philip; five brothers and two sisters.
