Marshall Leslie "Les" Kemper, 70, of Greenup died at 8:40pm Monday, August 1, 2016 at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00pm Friday, August 5 at Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Burial will be in Greenup Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Cumberland County Veterans.

Les was born on October 31, 1945 in Effingham, Illinois to Marshall and Maudeline (Stollings) Kemper. He married Carol Ann Haga on July 18, 1964. She preceded him in 2000.
Surviving is son Todd Kemper (Angela Jamison) of Greenup; daughter Tamara (Bryan) Hannah of Beecher City; brother Rex Lloyd (Frances) Kemper of Casey; sisters Linda Katz of Effingham and Nancy (Ron) Fleenor of Toledo; four grandchildren, Tyler Wayne Wallace, Whitney Ann Goff, Emma Rayna Kemper and Hunter William Kemper; one great grandson Gibson Van Goff.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Les worked at Northern Harvest in Paris, Illinois. He had also worked in construction and as a concrete finisher. He was a past member of the Jaycee Club and was a very active member of the Casey Moose Lodge in the past. He loved listening to blue grass and old time country music.
