Homer Larry Britton, 71, of Clay City died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, October 14, 2012 at his home in Clay City.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 17 at 11 a.m. at J.W. Neal Funeral Home, Louisville with Darrel Brandon officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Neal Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hoosier Cemetery, rural Louisiville. Memorials may be made to Clay County Cancer Crusaders or Clay City Christian Church. Homer was born January 12, 1941 in Clay County Hoosier Township, the son of Homer C. and Dora (Dickens) Britton. He married Mary Jane Walker January 12, 1963 at Old Union Christian Church. He was an oil field worker for Shelby Well Service, Clay City. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals.
Survivors include sons, Jerry (wife Janet) Britton of Xenia and Homer (wife Amy) Britton of Sailor Springs; daughters, Sherry (husband Marty) Johnson of Xenia and Carrie (husband Carroill) Lee of Clay City; sisters, Inez Harrison of Flora and Peggy Groves of Flora; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Joyce Britton and Vida Mae Newby and brothers, Marion Britton and Jimmie Britton.
