Larry E. Smith, 69, of Effingham, IL passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 1 at Johnson Funeral Home, 1110 N. 4th St. in Effingham. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home prior to the services. Memorials may be made to the Effingham County Humane Society.

Larry was born on September 8, 1946, in Effingham, IL, the son of Henry and Dora (Cox) Smith.
Larry is survived by his brother, James E. Smith of Bullhead City, AZ; sister, Linda (Ronald) Hetzel of Effingham; sister-in-law, Gloria Smith of Hesperia, CA; six nephews and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Katie Lilley; brother, Henry “Hank” Smith; and two nephews, Barry Smith and Keith Hetzel.
