Patricia R. Mateer, 86, of Gallatin, TN, formerly of Effingham, died at 5am Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Golden Living Brandywood Care Center in Gallatin, TN.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 23 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with burial in Oakridge Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Patricia was born April 20, 1930, in Birdseye Indiana, the daughter of Hilbert and Vivian Schnell. She married George Mateer in 1954 and he preceded her in death in 1990. While living in Effingham, Patricia had first worked at Anderson Jewelry and later at Kirlin's Hallmark Store.
Patricia is survived by her daughter Vaune (Michael) Taylor of Avon, Indiana, and a Granddaughter Dayton Schleicher, of Gallatin, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George and 1 daughter RuAnn.
