Bob Hardwick, 65, of Effingham died Friday evening, October 5, 2012 at his daughter's home in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 11 at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a 6 p.m. Elks memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elks Children's Care Corporation. www.bauerfh.com.

He was born August 28, 1947 in Olney, the son of John A. and Mary A. (Faught) Hardwick.  He was a member of Effingham American Legion Post #120 and was very involved with Effingham Elks Lodge #1016.  With the Elks organization, he was the past Exalted Ruler, District Deputy and State President.  He enjoyed being involved with the Elks Hoop Shoot, Elks National Foundation, and the Elks Children's Care Corporation.  He was also the East Central District Sponsor over nine Elks lodges.

He was survived by his daughter, Mary Banning and husband Ryan of Effingham...brother, Steve Hardwick and wife Susie of Newton...and four grandchildren, Michael Williams and Marcus, Morgan and Mackenzie Banning.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
