Paul D. Rauch, 62, of Hidalgo, formerly of Teutopolis, passed away at 7:10 pm Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at his home.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30 at Johnson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Fourth Street in Effingham, with military rites. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in loving memory of Paul to the donor’s choice.

Paul was born September 19, 1953, the son of Wilford and Mary Ellen (Geier) Rauch. He married Cynthia Ann Douglas on April 1, 1978, in Teutopolis, and she survives. Paul had graduated from Teutopolis High School in 1971. He was a SP4 in the U.S. Army, serving from 1972-1974. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Greenup. Paul inherited the love of the land and farming from his dad with whom he farmed. He was also an avid arrowhead hunter, loved to fish, mushroom hunt and spend time with his family.

Paul is survived by his wife, Cinde Rauch of Hidalgo; his four children, Danielle (Raymond) Finn of Greenup, Kyle (Samantha Dart) Rauch of Des Moines, IA, Charity (John) Mendenhall of Toledo, and Heath Rauch of Fort Minot, ND; eight grandchildren; brothers, Daniel (Jaymie) Rauch of Farina, Thomas (Carlene) Rauch of Teutopolis, George (Sherri) Rauch of Chatham, Jeffrey (Patti) Rauch of Montrose, and Andrew (Cheryl) Rauch of Effingham; sisters, Rebecca (Robert) Schumacher of Hope Sound, FL, Maureen (John) Garth of Oklahoma City, OK, Karen (Dan) Lynn of  Boaz, KY, Amy (Patrick) Schumacher of Effingham, Margaret (Patrick) Pals of Teutopolis, and Sara (Randy) Rauch of Effingham.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
