Herbert R. Kibler age 93 of Newton passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the Friendship Manor Health Care, Nashville, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 15 at the Falmouth United Methodist Church with Pastor Chuck Cunningham officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Crain Funeral Home, Newton. Burial will be in the West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Newton, Illinois. Memorials in honor of Herb may be made to the Falmouth United Methodist Church.

Herbert was born on April 21, 1922 in Falmouth, Illinois the son of Roscoe and Jessie (Babbs) Kibler. On March 14, 1948, Herb married Phyllis D. Dickey. She preceded him in death on January 1, 2011. For 40 years, Herb was a teller for the First National Bank of Newton until his retirement. Together with his wife, Herb was a faithful member of the Falmouth United Methodist Church and the Brush Creek Cluster. He was active in the United Methodist Men and enjoyed participating in church league softball as well bowling for the First National Bank’s team.

He will be loved and remembered by his children Phillip “Royce” Kibler, wife Jane of Normal, IL and Ruth A. Fischer, husband David of Nashville, IL; grandchildren Brad Fischer, wife Shannon of Leawood, KS , Dana Mammoser, husband Eric of Effingham, IL , and Brandon Kibler of Normal; great-grandchildren Bennett and Blair Fischer, Russell Mammoser and brother Larry Max Kibler of Newton.

His parents, wife Phyllis, and sister Wanda Lee Earnest preceded him in death.
