Thomas V. “Tom” Heuerman, 66, of Effingham, passed away at 10:50 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Effingham Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

A memorial mass will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with visitation being held from 5:00 p.m. to time of service. Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Cemetery, Teutopolis, with military graveside rites. Memorials may be made to Teutopolis American Legion Post #924.

Tom was born June 17, 1949 in Teutopolis, the son of Paul and Lidvina (Will) Heuerman. He served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War and worked with Charlie Heuerman Trucking Company for many years.

Tom is survived by his son, Brett of Effingham; daughter, DeDe (Josh) McElravy of Jewett; four brothers, Charles (Janice) of Teutopolis, Larry (Becky) of Montrose, Clete (Marsha) of Teutopolis and Paul (Dawn) of Teutopolis; four sisters, Mary Lou (Tim) Flach of Montrose, Jean (Terry) Hakman of Neoga, Janet (Whitney) McKinney of Neoga and Carlene (Tom) Rauch of Teutopolis; four grandchildren, Elijah, Madelyn, Katie and Luke McElravy.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harold.
