Edith A. Pontious Robertson, age 93, of Mason, Illinois passed away at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 6 at the Watson Baptist Church with a one hour viewing prior to service. Mark White will be officiating. Burial will be in the Watson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Pagel Funeral Home in Edgewood, Illinois. Memorials can be made to the Effingham American Legion Auxiliary, the Watson Cemetery Fund or the donor’s choice.

Edith was born on August 18, 1922 in Watson, Illinois to Ray and Ethel (Higgins) Pontious. Edith was oldest of six children. She married Charles D. Robertson, son of Victor and Leone Robertson of Mason, Illinois on March 8, 1941. They had five children, Emma, Rose, John, Arliss and Buster. Edith was a member of the Effingham American Legion Auxiliary. She loved gardening and was a avid sports fan.

She leaves a legacy behind in John and Sherry Robertson of Altamont, Illinois, Buster and Debra Robertson of Mason, Illinois, Arliss and Derle Budde of Mason, Illinois, Rose Stewart of Springfield, Illinois and friend, Glen Wines of Mason, Illinois; her brother and wife, Calvin and Nancy Pontious of Watson, Illinois; 12 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren as well as multiple nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Ethel Pontious; husband, Charles Robertson; daughter, Emma Macklin; son in law, Bill Macklin; grandson, Joshua Robertson and four sisters, Aline Bietz, Virginia Culver, Marie Nailer Wilson and Reta McCain.
