Celia Dian “Sis” Murphy, 77, of Noble, Illinois, passed away at 12:30 AM – Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at her home.

Funeral services celebrating Dian’s life will be held at 11:00 AM – Thursday, March 24 at the First Baptist Church in Bogota, Illinois with Gary Hostetler officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery in Wakefield, Illinois. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service. Memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

 Dian was born on March 10, 1939, in Jasper County, Illinois, the daughter of Daniel and Rachel (Pottorff) Olinger. She married Francis Dewayne Murphy on June 8, 1958, and he preceded her in death on August 19, 2009. Dian was a homemaker, loving mother, and grandmother. She also mowed yards for over 30 years and worked alongside her husband on the farm. Dian was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She loved to playing piano, accordion, and raising her animals.

Dian is survived by her 3 children, Charles “Chuck” Murphy of Noble, Illinois; Susan (Jesse) Headlee of Newton, Illinois; and Betty (Robin) Haerr of Olney, Illinois; 3 Grandchildren, Diana Headlee (fiancé Jeff Vahling) of Newton, Illinois; Marie (Chris) Collins of Petersburg, Indiana; and Jesse (Brittani) Headlee of Newton, Illinois; and 5 great grandchildren; and Half brother, Delbert “Dee” Olinger of Willow Hill, Illinois.

Dian was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 infant children, Patricia, Kenny, and Gary Murphy; and a brother Albert “Andy” Olinger.
