Gordon L. Reichert, 82, of Farina died on Saturday, February 27, 2016 in HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday, March 3 at Farina United Methodist Church with "Preacher Rob" Dillingham officiating. Burial will follow at the Farina Cemetery with military honors accorded at the graveside by the American Legion Post of Farina. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Wednesday at the church and from 10 to 11am Thursday at the church. Memorials to the BUM (Beyond Us Ministries), which helps Christian college students connect, or to the donor's choice. Rankin Funeral Home in Salem is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Reichert considered himself a farmer, working on the farm his entire life. Industrious, he was considered an entrepreneur, involved in many different vocational opportunities. A graduate of the University of Illinois, he taught school in Finley for 10 years, and taught in Farina for a half-year. He was a member of the Farina Methodist Church and served on the church board, a member of the Vandalia Country Club and former board member of that organization, and  a former board member of the Effingham Equity. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Reserves. He married Trudy Harris, August 2, 1972 in Mt. Vernon. She survives in Farina.

Also surviving are his sons Michael Reichert and wife Sherry of Downs, Kent Keppler and wife Tina of Farina and Jason Reichert and wife Jo Lee of Martinsville, along with 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
