Vonita F. Stevens, 82, of Cowden passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 9 at 11 a.m. at Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Cowden. Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Cowden. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, Herrick. Memorials may be made to the family.

She was born February 20, 1933 in Ramsey she was the daughter of Harry and Tressie (Timmons) Naab. She married Arthur Joseph Stevens on August 31, 1952 in Nokomis, IL and he preceded her in death on June 22, 2011. Vonita was a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ in Herrick, IL. She was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting and traveling with her sisters.

Surviving are daughters Madonna (Mike) Nichols of Mode, Marsha Kates of Witt, Sandra (Bruce) Miller of Beecher City, Pam (James) Johnson of Ramsey and Paula (Evan Schaefer) Robertson of Cowden; sons Joseph (Cindy) Stevens of Tuscola and Max Stevens of Cowden; 27 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Avril Baldock of Ramsey, Vida (Emmet) Hall of Ramsey, Carole Black of Herrick and Rosalie (Roger) Miller of Cowden; brothers Frederick Naab of Vandalia, Howard (Lois) Naab, Ronnie (Rose) Naab, Verle Naab and Roger Naab all of Ramsey.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one sister and one brother.
