Charles Robert "Bob" Emmerich, 79 of Wheeler, passed away at 7:30 PM on Friday, January 15, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Effingham.

Funeral services celebrating Bob's life will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 19, at Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois with Fr. Joseph Carlos officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Island Grove, Illinois. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM on Monday, January 18, at the funeral home. In loving memory of Bob, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Fund P.O. Box 333 Newton, Illinois 62448.

Charles Robert better known as Bob was born on April 2, 1936 in Montrose, Illinois the son of Andrew and Anna (Meinhart) Emmerich. Bob was a lifelong farmer and carpenter. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Bob is survived by his 9 children – Alvin (Anita) Emmerich of Wheeler, Illinois; Kim (Melvin) Radke of Newton, Illinois; Sheila (John) Millsap of Greenup, Illinois; Doris Callahan (Don Padrick) of Casey, Illinois; Mary (Mark) Cisney of Hidalgo, Illinois; Scott Emmerich of Wheeler, Illinois; Dawn (Todd) Kroenlein of Hidalgo, Illinois; Porter (Jennifer) Emmerich of Wheeler, Illinois and Tony Emmerich of Greenup, Illinois. Brother – Oliver Emmerich of Newton, Illinois Sister – Teresa Willenborg of Decatur, Illinois, 22 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Evelyn, Helen, Andrew, Vince, Franklin, Ralph, Anna Marie, Margaret, Blanche, Eugene, Edward and Judy.
