Helene Agnes Freidericka Stine, 90, of Brownstown died at 7:50 on Saturday evening, September 22, 2012 at Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, St. Peter with Rev. William Emrick officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown and for one hour prior to service time at the church. Helene was born on August 20, 1922 to Arthur and Bertha (Berg) Mercier in the Bethlehem Community, rural Altamont, Effingham County, Illinois. She married Lewis William ‘Bill’ Stine on April 20, 1947. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. As well as being a mother and a homemaker she had been employed at Gene’s Red Fox, Brownstown for many years.
She is survived by her husband, of Brownstown, her daughters, Linda (Roger) Herrmann and Nancy (Michael) Kistler both of Brownstown, her sister, Laura Hollmann of St. Peter, her son-in-law, Bruce Boaz of Brownstown, her sisters-in-law, Doris Mercier of St. Peter, Esther Stine of Brownstown, and Katherine (Bill) Peeks of Jonesboro, Tennessee, 5 grandchildren; Bruce Boaz, Jr., Christina (Kevin) Kramer, Brian Herrmann, John Herrmann, and Wes Kistler, 3 great grandchildren; Jacob Kramer, Isaac Kramer and Stacy Boaz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Mary Boaz and her brother Harry Mercier.
