Gertrude E. Burrow (87) of Altamont

Gertrude E. Burrow 87 years old of Altamont, left her earthly home Sunday afternoon.

April 30, 2012, at 1:50 PM at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral Services will be conducted Friday morning May 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Altamont with the Rev. Dr. James F. Wright officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday May 3, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kull
Funeral Chapel, Altamont, Illinois, and for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Burial Rites: will follow the funeral services at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Altamont, Illinois.

Gertrude Emma Maria Wolf-Burrow was born August 15, 1924 on the family farm in the Bethlehem
Community near Altamont, Illinois into the family of Bernhard and Maria Ziegler-Wolf. Gertrude was the fifth
child of eight siblings born into this Christian family. Gertrude received her education in Altamont, Illinois.

She married Arlon Walter Burrow on February 15, 1953 in Immanuel Lutheran Church by the Rev. John
W. Meyer. Arlon preceded her in death on April 30, 1976. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran
Church and organizations within the church as the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, the Altar Guild,
the Lutheran Brail Workers, the Immanuel PTL, and women’s home Bible Study. Besides raising a family in
Christian values and assisting her husband with farming she most enjoyed sewing and crocheting.

workers scholarship fund, the Lutheran Hour, the Lutheran Care Center and or the Donor’s Choice.
