Sandra Cushman Bell (48) of Mattoon

Sandra “Sandy Rae” Cushman Bell, 48, of Mattoon, passed away at 3:12 a.m. on Thursday, April 12,  2012,  at her residence.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m.  on Sunday, April 29, 2012  at Wolf Creek State Park Overlook in Shelbyville. 

Sandra was born on April 14, 1963 in Shelbyville the daughter of John Melvin Cushman and Dorothy (Huddleston) Kuhring.   She married Mike A. Bell on August 30, 1996.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Melvin Cushman. 

Survivors include her husband, Mike Bell of Mattoon;  mother, Dorothy Kuhring and step-father, Gale of Dietrich;  son, Dakota Lawhorn of Mattoon;  sisters, Kathy Gray and Husband Bob of Newton;  Pamela Araiza of Effingham;  brother, John Cushman of Mode and mother-in-law, Marie Bell of Mattoon.

Sandy loved horses motorcycles and NASCAR, she was Kyle Busch’s biggest fan.  Sandy had been sick for awhile, she could party with the best of them when she was in good health.  Everyone she called a friend was lucky to have known her.   She loved both her boy Dakota and her husband Mike and was looking forward to her first grandchild.  She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends alike.  Before Sandy got sick she rode her own Harley, weather permitting all are welcome to ride to the celebration of life.  Meeting for the ride will be at noon,  on April 29, 2012 at the Ice House in Mattoon to ride out to Wolf Creek.
