David was born on September 17, 1945 in Santa Monica, CA, the son of Thomas Gilbert and Carin Clark Biorkman Procter. He grew up in Ojai and Claremont California, attended The Webb School, and later graduated from the University of New Hampshire at Durham, New Hampshire. He was a very talented artist and wood carver. Although in later years he no longer played, he did play a gentle guitar in his college days and had a lovely voice.

David was a Captain in the United States Air Force. He had an absolutely devilish temper, which was nicely balanced by one of the most loving, generous, playful, ebullient, kind, steady spirits to be on this earth. He married Barbara Geving on May 2, 1998 in Springfield, IL, and she survives.

David was the owner and president of OmniCare Labs, Inc, in Effingham. He was a member of the ABC, A.O.P.A, A.A.O.P, and Ducks Unlimited.

His survivors include his wife; Barbara, son; Thomas L. (Katrina) Procter of Lexington, KY, 2 daughters; Lauren K. and Rachel M. Geving of Teutopolis, sister; Sharon (Bill Yule) Procter of Bisbee, AZ, cousin; Alexis Scharf, 3 nieces and 7 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
