Edward Tinker (85) of Jewett, Formerly of Beecher City and Effingham

Edward Tinker, 85, of Jewett, formerly of Beecher City and Effingham died at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday in the Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Ransom Cemetery near Beecher City. Military rites will be held. Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Beecher City is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

He was born May 4, 1927 in Elvins, MO the son of Fred and Rosa (Sammons) Tinker.  He married Betty Sloan and she preceded him in death in 1988. He then married Vernie Wheeler and she preceded him in death in 2011.  He served in the US Army during WW II and retired from General Motors after 30 years.

Surviving are children, Brenda Rousan of Avondale, AZ, Edward G. Tinker of Effingham, and Patricia Pierson of Jewett; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Estalee Adkisson of Jonesboro, AR.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, son, Michael Tinker and daughter, Judy Glumm.
