Harold H. Hall, 88, of St. Elmo, IL. passed away at 5:40 a. m. Wednesday, May 21 2014 at  Aperion Care are in St. Elmo, IL. 
 
Funeral service will be at 12:00 p. m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at C & A Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo, IL. with Pastor Dan Laack officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 12:00 p. m.  prior to service. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery following service with military rites. Memorials may be made to Loretta's Kitchen and Friendship Manor Memorial Fund.
 
Harold was born on August 11, 1925 in Bible Grove, IL., the son of James Ellis and Anna Mae (Cammon) Hall. He married Freda Eileen Forth in March 13, 1954 in Fairfield, IL., who preceded him in death on December 19, 1987. During Harold's military service he served in WWII. He served in the campaign of Ardennes, the Rhineland and central Europe.  Harold was awarded two overseas service bars for the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign with 3 Bronze Battle Stars. He also received a Purple Heart for wounds received in battle. Harold also received the WWII victory medal, the Good Conduct medal, and the Combat Infantry Badge. He reached the rank of Tec 5. He was also a dedicated Cardinals fan.
 
He was survived by his two sons, Rick Hall of Effingham, IL., Randy Hall of Altamont, IL.; daughter, Mona Stanley (husband Lloyd) of St. Elmo, IL.; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Wilson Hall, George Hall, Aden Hall, Edgar Hall; two sisters, Frances Runyon, Lois Myers; and one son, Ron Dennis.
