Lois L. Moeller, 89, of Altamont, went to Heaven at 7:25 p. m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.
 
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a. m. Monday, April 28, 2014, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Effingham, with Rev. Ted Gall and Rev. Earl Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Arborcrest Memorial Park in rural Effingham.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p. m. Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, and 1 hour prior to the service Monday at the church.

Lois was born on November 25, 1924, in Strasburg, IL, the daughter of Edward and Emma (Lading) Pfeiffer. She married William Jackson on January 10, 1946 and he preceded her in death on August 31, 1974. Lois married Roland Moeller on September 20, 1975 and he preceded her in death on November 24, 1999.  Lois was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Strasburg. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, and AAL branch secretary in Effingham. She volunteered at Lutheran Care Center. She also was a 25 year member of St. John's Braille Center and helped with E. A. S. T. E. R. at St. John's for 15 years. She was employed by Effingham Unit 40 for 25 years.  She loved her family and spent time with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved baking her special sugar cookies, playing games and sending bouquets of flowers home with them. She believed that God was the answer to all of life's hard times and that prayer was the key to open any door. She loved her family and will be greatly missed.
 
She is survived by her sons, John (Marla) Jackson, Jim (Teresa) Jackson, Gene (Nina) Jackson and Gerald (Nancy) Jackson, all of Effingham; daughters, Susan (John) Meinhart of Dieterich and Janet Nitzsche of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Bruce Storm of Tallahassee, FL; Angie (Wayne) Watkins of Hoffman; Lori (Matt) Spears of San Antonio, TX; Jill (Brian) Ruholl of Teutopolis, Jodi Jackson and James R. Jackson, both of Effingham; Johnny (Nancy) Meinhart of Teutopolis; Tammy (Joe) Zweeres of Morris; Casey (Wendy) Meinhart of Newton; Todd (Jen) Meinhart of Dieterich; Brian (Meghan) Jackson of Kirkwood, MO; Brandon (Meredith) Jackson of St. Louis, MO; Lisa (Clint) Reardon of Effingham; Justin (Amanda) Jackson of Altamont; and Nicole (Matt) Thorseth of Westminster, MA; 27 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Yvonne) Pfeiffer of Strasburg; nephew, Mike Pfeiffer of Strasburg; and niece, Cheryl (Chris) Jansen of Decatur.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Maurice Pfeiffer; sister, Wilma Pfeiffer; son, Joel Jackson; and grandson, Rodney Meinhart.
