Geneva Koehler, 95, of Loogootee, IL. passed away at 8:42 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia, IL.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Old Loogootee Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Pagel Funeral home in St. Peter, IL.
Memorials may be made to the Old Loogootee Cemetery or to the family.
Geneva was born in Fayette County, the daughter of James and Carrie (Hoehne) Case. She married Kenneth E. Koehler in June of 1936 in Vandalia, IL. When she was younger, she enjoyed traveling around the country and making quits. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Justin Koehler of Cody, WY., Rod Koehler (wife Lillian) of Loogootee, IL., Don Koehler of Carbondale, IL., Glenn Koehler (wife Sue) of Bell, FL., Alan Koehler (wife Nan) of Cody, WY., Dennis Koehler (wife Paula) of Bell, FL.; daughters, Bettye Koehler of Loogootee, IL., Patty Koehler of Bluff City, IL., Nina Shepard (husband Danny) of Grants Pass, OR. ; Son-n-law, Bob Harpster of Millington, IL; sister-n-law, Rosemary Case of Vandalia, IL.; 29 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Koehler; brothers, Irvin Case, Lembert Case, James Case; daughter, Sonya Harpster; daughter-n-law, Linda Koehler.
