Myrna Alice Cooper (100) of rural Neoga

Myrna A. Cooper, 100, of rural Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 1:00 A. M., Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at her residence in rural Neoga.
She was born February 24, 1914 in rural Jewett, IL the daughter of James and Clementine (Bell) Walker. She married Ivan L. Cooper on October 27, 1940 in Toledo, IL. They enjoyed 73 years of marriage, and have resided on their farm west of Toledo for all but four of those years. Mrs. Cooper was a Homemaker, helped on the family farm and was a former employee at Kern Mfg. of Neoga, IL. She loved playing McDonald's Bingo and enjoyed canning, baking, sewing, quilting and made wedding dresses. She was well noted for her pies. Myrna was a member of the First Christian Church in Neoga, IL and the Toledo Eastern Star Chapter # 231 in Toledo, IL.
She is survived by her children, Joann Burton and her husband Bob of rural Toledo, IL, James Cooper and wife Celeste of Joliet; IL, David Cooper and wife Sandy of Mount Zion, IL and Karen Stoner of Decatur, IL; ten Grandchildren; three Step-Grandchildren; Twenty two Great-Grandchildren; and four Step- Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Parents and her Son-In-Law, Dan Stoner; two Brothers, Glen Walker and Floyd Walker; two Sisters, Irma Hicks and Pearl Dobbs.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Neoga, IL or the Shriner's Hospitals.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A. M. at the First Christian Church of Neoga, IL, Saturday March 15, 2014 with Pastor Mel Workman of Sullivan, IL and Charles Bartlett of Neoga, IL officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P. M. Friday, March 14, 2014 with an Eastern Star Service at 8:00 P. M. by the Toledo Eastern Star Chapter # 231, at the Swengel - O'Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, IL and one hour before the service at the Church on Saturday. Burial will be at the Long Point Cemetery east of Neoga, IL.
