Everett McConnell, 89, of Fairfield, died at 9:40 a.m. Friday, February 28 at VNA Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville, IN.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 5 at 11am at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield. Visitation will be from 10am to service time Wednesday. Burial in Bailey Cemetery north of Wayne City with military rites by the Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and Wayne Memorial Post #4535 VFW.

He worked 38 years as a line clearance journeyman for Wayne White Electric before retiring in 1986, and was a member of the Fairfield First Christian Church. He was also a Veteran in the U.S. Army in World War II, serving from 1943 to 1946.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years June of Fairfield; two sons, Dennis (Maxine) McConnell of The Woodlands, TX and David (Irma) McConnell of Effingham, IL; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Oblong Children’s Christian Home, and will be accepted at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield.
