Song Writing Workshop

Effingham Public Library will be holding a song writing workshop with nationally known songwriter and performer Bill Poss (Passalacqua) Saturday, February 20 from 1- 4PM.

Bill Poss is a songwriter and performer from Effingham, IL, who has been touring North America for two decades - first solo, then with the Ginn Sisters and Fred Eaglesmith. The course will involve one hour of talking about songwriting, one of hour of writing, one hour of sharing songs and discussion.

Bill Poss has released 5 studio albums of mostly original material that have been played on radio stations all over the US and Europe. His "Long Way Home" CD reached #2 on the Freeform Americana Roots chart in 2003. He has won songwriting contests (Walnut Valley Festival, Fiddler's Frolics) and has co-written with noteworthy songwriters including Slaid Cleaves, Fred Eaglesmith, Tiffani Ginn, Elizabeth McQueen, Jeff Talmadge, Greg Klyma and others. He has also released a book, "The Bill Poss Travelogue," and is currently working on his first memoir novel.
