Do you or your family members have concerns about your child's development? Examples of this might be:

· Fine and Gross Motor Skills: Difficulty with writing, cutting or grasping? Trouble with eye-hand coordination, like throwing and catching a ball? Difficulty walking, sitting, crawling, or rolling?

· Self-help Skills: Difficulty dressing, toileting and grooming him or herself? Difficulty feeding him or herself and using utensils?

· Visual Perceptual/Motor Skills: Difficulty identifying colors, shapes or completing visual games like puzzles?

· Sensory System: Is your child fearful of movements or heights? Does your child avoid certain smells, tastes or feel of clothing?

· Speech and Language Skills: Is it difficult to understand your child? Does your child appear to be behind children his or her age with language??

HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital's Physical Rehabilitation department is holding a free developmental screening on Saturday, May 16, for children ages 0-18 years old. You will be able to ask questions during your 20-30 minute screening with one of St. Anthony's qualified Occupational Therapists. They will help you to determine if your child could benefit from further evaluation and treatment.

A physician's order is not required for the screening and patients do not have to register with the hospital. However, screenings are being conducted by appointment only. Appointment times are available between 10 a. m. and 1p. m. Call (217) 347-1243 to schedule an appointment.
