The 43rd Annual Elks Hoops Shoot will be held Saturday, December 13 at Effingham High School. Doors open at 10 a.m. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and shooting starts sharply at 11 a.m.

Age brackets are 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13 years old as of April 1, 2014. Only one winner in each age bracket from each school.

At the local Elks Hoop Shoot in Effingham, there will be three trophies in each age group for first, second and third places. Elk Frisbees will be given to all participants. The best girl and boy free throw shooter of each group will be given a special plaque. Trophies and basketball are on display at the Elks Lodge on South Banker Street.

Winners will advance to the Elks District Hoop Shoot contest to be held Sunday, January 10 at Paris. Time of shoot will be posted at a later date. If there are any questions, contact Chairman Lawrence Carie at 217-347-7536 or the Effingham Elks Lodge at 217-342-3636.
