The Effingham Central Business Group is hosting Chili Fest 2013 on Friday October 18th, from 5-8 p.m. The stage is set for a great evening of festivities and fun for the entire family. The central location for Chili Fest will take place on Jefferson Street in Effingham. Many participating businesses in the Effingham Central Business district will serve as hosts to chili tastings, treats and refreshments, activities and shopping.

 

Nearly two dozen businesses will host either a complimentary chili tasting stop or other treats and refreshments throughout the evening. Festival goers will be given ballets to vote for their favorite chili. The chili with the most votes will receive the "Chili Fest People's Choice" Award.

 

Entertainment kicks off at 5 p.m. at the Jefferson Street Central Stage, located downtown, featuring local performers. Taylor Law Office will host Russ Howard and Millennium Accessories will host Allie Keck beginning at 5 p.m. Firebox takes the stage at 6 p.m., playing two entertaining hours of the best Bluegrass music in the area. This event is being sponsored by the City of Effingham Convention and Visitors Bureau.
