Summer Youth Theater Camp is a theater training program that teaches students a basic curriculum of focus, voice and diction, improvisation, character study, and movement. Campers will be divided into groups based on age and/or ability. They will learn theater performing techniques under the direction of trained theater professionals. Each camper will gain education about theater and performing, boost his/her self-confidence, and become more comfortable interacting with others both one-on-one and in front of large groups. Campers attend sessions Monday through Friday in the first week and Monday through Thursday the second week, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The camp dates are July 8-18. There will be a performance that showcases everything the students have learned during the course of the camp on Thursday, July 18 at 7 p.m. in the theater.
