VW Welcomefest Downtown Party

VW Welcomefest hosted by Visit Effingham will return to Experience Downtown Effingham on Friday, June 16th, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., and you're invited to join the welcome 'wagen'!

Volkswagens will parade down Jefferson Avenue at approximately 5:30 p.m. to join the party, parking in the spaces surrounding the historical Effingham County Courthouse Museum Effingham IL, and bringing the Mid America Motorworks: Air-Cooled Volkswagen Fun Run Road Tour to a close.  We encourage residents to come downtown, Friday night, and watch the VWs roll in!

Enjoy delicious festival fare from Newell Family Farms and tasty treats from Homewood Grill, along with live musical entertainment from the Doty- Dexter-Westcott Trio.  While you’re downtown, stop by Visit Effingham’s tent and enter to win a retro KoolTunes 14-qt. Igloo cooler, and - of course – be sure to check out the wide variety of Volkswagens parked along the square!  We have more fun planned for the kids this year, too, including coloring books, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, a caricature artist and free face-painting by Make On Main.

This event is one for all ages.  We invite you to bring your family, your friends, your significant other, or even your four-legged friend to Downtown Effingham on Friday, June 16th for a night of food, entertainment and, of course, Volkswagens!
