Flu season has arrived and may be a contributing factor to increased cancellations and fewer people keeping their appointments to donate blood. As the numbers of cases grow, there may be a notable decrease in the number of healthy blood donors available to sustain the blood supply. Currenty, all blood types are needed, with an urgent need for O negative and B negative.
There will be a Blood Drive Tuesday, February 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Effingham Blood Donation Center, 603 Eden Avenue, Effingham.
