Community Calendar

There will be a Disaster Bootcamp in Effingham at the county EMA building, 311 Miracle Avenue, on Saturday, October 16 from 8:30am to 2:30pm.

This bootcamp is mostly for volunteers who are interested in volunteering for Red Cross and being part of our local/national disaster response efforts.  We desperately need an infusion of new volunteers to assist with local casework.  Meaning, if there is a house fire or tornado or flooding, you would respond and do a bit of casework and be able to provide funds to a family in need.  If you know of someone, or an organization, who might be interested, please invite them.  

We are in the planning stages of offering sheltering updates later this fall.  Stay tuned!

New volunteers need to register prior to attending.  At the bottom of the flyer there are instructions and a contact, Connie Dudgeon, to help with the registration process.

Lunch will be included.  Registration is a must as I need to know how many lunches to order and how many handouts to bring, as well.

Go to My Shift from the list across the top of the page

Scroll down to DCS Events and Meetings

Click on Oct 16 on the Calendar onto the Effingham DAT Bootcamp.

Click the register button.
