Teutopolis teacher Phil Lewis will present a detailed description of the historic railroads of the National Road and Effingham County Thursday, December 13 in the historic Effingham County Courthouse in the first floor media room. Lewis has created an in-depth powerpoint presentation richly loaded with photographs which tell the story of this important part of area transportation. As in the past, the meetings will be held at 7 p.m. to celebrate the story of Effingham County.

Everyone who is fascinated by railroading, or by local history, will enjoy this Thursday evening event. The series, which will continue the second Thursday of each month through March 14, is sponsored by the Effingham County Historical and Genealogical Society and the Effingham County Cultural Center and Museum Association, Inc., The museum will be open at 6 p.m. so the public can view the various exhibits.
