Informational Program on Human Trafficking Scheduled for February 27 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital

The Effingham County Medical Society and HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital will be hosting a public information session on the topic of Human Trafficking, on Thursday, Feb. 27, at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital’s Auditorium, 503 North Maple Street, Effingham. The session is intended to increase public awareness of the growing issue of human trafficking extending across the nation.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the event will begin at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. This seminar will particularly benefit members of the clergy and educator as the materials will be focused on helping these groups identify victims of trafficking and how to help them. The information to be shared is explicit in nature and could be disturbing to those under age 16.

Presenters at the informational session will include Nikki Quandt, Executive Director of Heartland Human Services, and Annie Shoemaker, Director of Eden's Glory, a restoration home for survivors of human trafficking.

Those wishing to attend are encouraged to RSVP by contacting Ashley Dillingham, HSHS St. Anthony’s Manager of Case Management, Guest Services and Behavioral Health Services, by emailing Ashley.Dillingham@hshs.org or calling 217-347-1871.
