The word “fundraising” usually evokes the image of bake sales, trivia nights, bingo and costume parties. Many nonprofit organizations do not consider having a fundraising strategy that includes year-end giving, corporate gifts, donor stewardship or donor recognition. For some organizations, the prospect of these activities is daunting. Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation is partnering with Forefront to bring an in-depth training on fundraising fundamentals to area nonprofits to cover these topics and more.

“Raising Money for Your Organization: Fundraising Fundamentals” is scheduled for Thursday, March 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Roy Schmidt Honda (1705 W Fayette Avenue, Effingham). Attendees of “Raising Money for Your Organization: Fundraising Fundamentals” will learn about gift acceptance policies, fundraiser marketing, how to ask donors for a major gift, special events, corporate gifts, donor recognition and donor stewardship.

Full participation in “Raising Money for Your Organization: Fundraising Fundamentals” is applicable for two points in Category 1.B – Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.
