–In recognition of National Diabetes Month, HSHS Medical Group’s “Ask an Expert” features Christie Razavi, MD, an endocrinologist at Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate at HSHS Medical Group in Springfield. In this 4-part video series, Dr. Razavi answers common questions about diabetes. In this third episode, viewers will learn the three tools for effectively managing diabetes. These include food choices, physical activity and medications. You’ll also learn smart choices you can make. As an affiliate of the world-renowned Joslin Diabetes Center, an institution of Harvard Medical School, HSHS Medical Group is pleased to share best practices to address this disease.

1The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) estimates that 30.3 million people have diabetes (9.4% of the U.S. population)—23.1 million people are diagnosed and 7.2 million are undiagnosed (23.8% of people with diabetes are undiagnosed). In this special video series of “Ask an Expert”, Dr. Razavi will share valuable diabetes information including symptoms and treatment options.

Dr. Razavi received her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. She completed her internal medicine residency and endocrine fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Razavi is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology.
