The Coles County Cop Chase 1-mile Fun Run/Walk & 5k GLOW Race/Run at your LifeSpan Center, September 9, 2016. The event is dedicated to raising awareness and benefiting Family Caregiver Resource Center (FCRC) in assisting and encouraging healthy children and families.
All proceeds from the event go to the “Grandparents Raising Grandchildren” FCRC Program devoted to Grandparents and other relatives over 55 years of age caring for children 18 years of age and younger. (Grandparents or other relatives under 55 may also be eligible for services.)
The 1-mile Family Friendly Fun Run will start the evening’s festivities immediately following the 6:00pm check-in at 7:30pm. (Please bring a valid form of ID and printout of your registration form if you registered on Active.com.) At 8:00pm participants in the 5k Run/Walk at LifeSpan Center will enjoy a blacklight GLOW experience chasing Celebrity racer, Coles County Sheriff Jimmy Rankin as he leads the pack. All participants are encouraged to wear colorful/neon clothing. Get your GLOW on and be ready to GLOW to compete in the “GLOW BIG OR GLOW HOME” best-dressed contest. GLOW paint, GLOW gear, and a specially-designed GLOW photo booth will be available to the participants for a little extra fun!
Each participant registered for the 5K prior to September 1st (guaranteed) will receive a special Dri-fit performance “CCCC” GLOW shirt – no skimpy regular t-shirts for our 5K friends! All participants will receive a goodie bag with a “CCCC” glow bracelet and a custom participation medal. Hydration Stations will be set up along the blacklight GLOW route. And, to add a bit more excitement to the event, “Citations” (prizes) for moving violations and lawful infractions will be given to random participants observed breaking the law! At the conclusion of the race there will be an awards ceremony, along with refreshments for all event participants. The top racers in each category will receive a trophy to show off for their efforts! Register now for the 2016 Coles County Cop Chase! This new exciting event is sure to be a popular one. Cost for the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk is just $10 for those under the age of 12 and $15 for anyone 12 years and over (commemorative standard t-shirt included); $25 to register for the 5K GLOW Race/Run/Walk.
