The storms that visited our area Thursday evening didn't stay long, but sure packed a wallop.

The activity that may have included a tornado in some locations damaged a wide swath of the area, from as far west as St. Elmo and Brownstown to as far east as Toledo.

Emergency Services reported a tornado north of Lake Sara shortly after 5pm.

Whether it was a tornado or straight line winds, these photos will give you some idea of the damage done.

The storm visited Hartke Farms on the southeast edge of Neoga.  The back half of this outbuilding is a tangled, twisted mess.

In the photo below, owner Gary Hartke (BACK TO THE CAMERA) talks with others about what to do next after the storm did major damage to a barn Hartke estimates was built in the 1940s.

The damage was also seen in the area south and east of Sigel.

The Tony Deters property along County Road 300 North had damage to the roof of the house as well as to the barn and other outbuildings.

If you look inside the torn-open part of the barn's wall, you can see rows of neatly-stacked hay bales.

Across the road to the north and just east, considerable damage was done to the farm of Mary Ann Swingler and her son Jeff.  The cap on a grain bin was torn off, the roof of another outbuilding was blown away and there was damage to other structures.

Our last stop was to the Robert Clough property, which is south and west of the Deters farm.  You can see that two outbuildings collapsed on top of the vehicles and other items stored inside.

We also had a report that grain bins along the Burma Road, north out of Toledo were blown down.
