Students from Effingham High School have been selected to participate in the All-State Music Conference in Peoria.

Those selected are soprano Savanah Keller, alto Daejah Hawthorne and soprano Cameron Voyles as vocalists and Jenna Bingham on oboe, Lauren Stephenson on french horn and Sarah Womack on flute as instrumentalists.

The students auditioned in October for the honor and will travel to Peoria for a statewide music conference January 22-25.  They will perform in a finale concert on Saturday, January 25 at the Peoria Civic Center.

Band students will re-audition in Peoria to be placed in one of two bands; the All-State Band under the direction of Ithaca College Director of Bands Stephen Peterson, or the Honors Band under the direction of University of Miami Director of Bands Gary Green.

Chorus students will be performing in the All-State Choir under the direction of Paul Rardin of Temple University.

The EHS band students are under the direction of Peter Manzi and the chorus students are under the direction of Jamie Jennings and Deb Price.
