The Effingham County CEO class hosted four area state legislators Thursday at the Midland States Bank headquarters in Effingham.  The legislators were invited to talk with students about the business climate in Illinois and how decisions at the state government level impact businesses.

The four legislators--Senator Dale Righter, Senator Kyle McCarter, Representative John Cavaletto and Representative David Reis--spent about 90 minutes with the students and another 60 minutes with the governing board of the CEO class.

Righter said, "It is always a pleasure to interact with an engaged, curious group of young people, and the students with the Effingham County CEO class is filled with these kind of young people.  It is preparing the next generation of leaders to be organized, hard-working job creators".

Reis commented, "I've had the privilege of following the CEO class concept since it was just an idea written on the back of a napkin.  It's a fabulous idea and I look forward to supporting its growth into other areas of the state."

(STATE REPRESENTATIVE DAVID REIS)

The CEO class mission is to provide a comprehensive educational experience for Effingham County high school students, equipping them to be enterprising individuals and entrepreneurial thinkers who contribute to the economic development of Effingham County.  Students from all six Effingham County high schools participate in the class.  Kent Probst is the CEO instructor.
