One of Effingham's oldest manufacturers is ready to grow.

John Boos and Company President Joe Emmerich Wednesday said the company hopes to add 10 to 20 jobs over the next couple of years as a result of an addition to their metal plant.  The Effingham City Plan Commission Tuesday night approved a site plan for a 42,000 square foot addition to the west side of the company's South Route 45 location.

Emmerich said their business has grown significantly since the move from downtown to the plant south of the city, so they need the additional space.  He said, "We must be doing something right, and continue to gain market share."  He also indicated that the company would be glad to train qualified applicants.

The dirt work on the expansion is already underway.  Emmerich hopes for the addition to be completed in late spring or early summer.
