Two Effingham teenagers remain hospitalized a week after a Thanksgiving Eve crash in the south part of the county.

18-year-old Ashley Conder was driving on the Mason-Eberle Road, just west of US Route 45 at 11:20pm on November 27 when the crash occurred.  Effingham County sheriff's deputies say the vehicle driven by Conder was traveling at a high rate of speed and crested a hill when Conder lost control of the car.  The vehicle skidded out of control and struck a ditch, overturning several times.

Conder and three passengers, ages 16, 15 and 15 from Effingham were all injured.  Conder was airlifted to Carle Hospital in Urbana where she was still listed in critical condition this morning.  One of the passengers, 15-year-old Colton Hall of Effingham, was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, and then was airlifted to Carle Hospital in Urbana where he remains a patient.  The other two passengers were treated at St. Anthony's, and then released.

Conder was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
