It might be a little cooler, and there were scattered bursts of rainfall in the area over the weekend, but neither is enough to end the need for a ban on outdoor burning.
Several area fire chiefs have contacted us to indicate people are resuming outdoor burning, and they want you to know that the bans are still in place.
One chief indicated that they wrote three citations Monday on people in their community who burned while the burn ban is in place. Another said they had four calls in a day in response to burning despite the ban.
While temperatures have cooled some from last week's scorching readings, it is still just as dry as ever in most areas, if not drier, and that's the greatest danger.
