Fayette County Officials Investigate Shooting Death

A Henry, Illinois man was found dead on the front steps of a rural Shobonier home by his friend shortly before 6pm Monday.
The man identified as 27-year-old Michael Brown appears to have died of a single gunshot wound to the head. Fayette County Coroner Bruce Bowen pronounced Brown dead at the scene at 6:31pm.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Fayette County Coroner's Office. An autopsy is being conducted today in Effingham at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital to help determine the cause of death.
