A crash in Clay County Wednesday afternoon sent two people to the hospital.

State police reported a truck driven by 85-year-old William Klein of Flora ran a stop sign along US 45.  A vehicle driven by 35-year-old Billy Joe Lagle of Flora had to pass Klein at the intersection with a county road but Klein's truck still struck Lagle's vehicle with the impact causing Lagle's vehicle to overturn onto its top.  Klein continued more than a mile down the highway until he arrived at his residence.

Klein told investigating officers that he had no memory of the collision or even of driving the truck.

Klein and Lagle were both taken to Clay County Hospital in Flora and then were both airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

The crash happened just before 2:30 Wednesday afternoon.
