A Watson man was injured Thursday night when struck by a vehicle.

Effingham County sheriff's deputies say the pedestrian, 37-year-old Jamie Larson of Watson, was walking west in the middle of the eastbound lane of Illinois 37 close to Maple Street in Watson.  Larson was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by 21-year-old Christopher Causer of Watson.  Causer told authorities he didn't see Larson in time to avoid the collision.  The accident remains under investigation.

Larson was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment. Larson's brother Bob told us Saturday that Jamie had been transferred to Carle Hospital in Champaign, in critical condition.

Watson Fire Protection District firefighters assisted deputies at the scene.  The crash occurred just after 10:30pm Thursday.
