A man was injured in a farm accident involving an auger Wednesday afternoon.  The man's name is not yet available from authorities.

The initial report on the incident was that a semi had collided with a combine, but there was no such collision.  Authorities were called to the scene along 1900th Street, just south of 100th Avenue in the southeast part of Effingham County, at 3:24pm.  When authorities reached the scene, they found the injured man and summoned a medical helicopter that flew the man from the scene to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for treatment.

Dieterich firefighters were on scene assisted by Teutopolis firefighters along with Effingham County sheriff's deputies, Illinois State Police and Effingham City-County Ambulance Service.
