The Emmy Award-winning restaurant review series "Check, Please!" has hit the road and is filming across Illinois for a special episode set to air in Spring 2014.

Effingham will be a stop along the route as "Check, Please" will be filming at Firefly Grill this weekend.

"Firefly Grill is a major tourist draw in Effingham and we're thrilled to show the viewers of 'Check, Please!' what makes Firefly Grill so special," said Effingham Tourism Director Jodi Jackson.  "We hope 'Check Please!' inspires travelers to discover all that makes Effingham a great place to visit."

State and local tourism officials are confident that the show will help inspire viewers to hit the road themselves and explore Effingham and surrounding areas.

"From Michelin-starred restaurants to local farmers' markets and food festivals, Illinois offers no shortage of unique culinary experiences," said Jen Hoezle, Deputy Director for the Illinois Office of Tourism.  "As viewers of 'Check, Please!' will discover, the people and, yes, the tastes, can make a trip to Illinois unforgettable."
