A Mason man was injured in a Sunday morning crash.

24-year-old Brian A.L. Haws was traveling north on US Route 45 shortly before noon when his vehicle ran off the highway just north of 500th Avenue.  Effingham County sheriff's deputies say Haws' vehicle traveled 152 feet off the roadway before Haws overcorrected.  The vehicle slid back up onto and across the highway before running off the left side where the unit struck a utility pole with the passenger side door.  The impact ejected Haws from the vehicle.

Haws was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.  He was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
